Lowering hydrodynamic debris separators into place. APWA Awards Project of the Year to City of Yreka Stormwater Project
On August 19, 2010, the Sacramento Chapter of the American Public Works Association awarded its Project of the Year in the Environment Category (Construction: $2-10 million, Agency size: Small) to the City of Yreka's Stormwater Attenuation and Floodplain Restoration Project. The Stormwater Attenuation portion of the project was designed by Willdan Engineering in Redding, California.
The state-funded project implemented five separate projects from the City's first-ever Storm Drain Master Plan, also prepared by Willdan: two storm drain upgrades and three regional detention facilities, protecting the City from a 100-year storm event while preserving the environmentally sensitive watershed.
