The Ozone Laundry Energy Efficiency Program (OLEEP) is designed to provide technical assistance and incentives to customers who have chosen to integrate ozone technology into their laundry facilities.

Customer Eligibility

OLEEP serves natural gas customers in the following customer segments:

  • Lodging Customers with 250+ Rooms
    • NAICS codes: 721100, 721110, 721190, 721191, 721310
  • Hospitals and Residential Care Facilities
    • NAICS codes: beginning with 622 & 623
  • Commercial Laundry Services
    • NAICS codes: 812320 or beginning with 81233
  • Correctional Institutions (on a case-by-case basis)
    • NAICS code: 922140

Services

OLEEP provides assistance and support to the customer throughout the ozone laundry system installation process. The customer does not have to go through the Customized Retrofit Incentive Program in order to receive the $1 per therm incentive. Services include:

  • Audit facilities and prepare analysis detailing benefits
  • Provide engineering and financial analysis
  • Assist with contractor selection and bid process for equipment
  • Provide assistance in obtaining incentives through water agencies

How to Participate

Participation in OLEEP is easy. The project management team will provide support throughout the process of project identification, contractor and equipment selection, system installation, and payment of incentives.

Eligibility and Terms

Qualifying projects must be completed and inspected before December 1, 2012, to receive OLEEP funding.

2010-2012 Ozone Laundry Incentives and Benefits

Incentive: $1 per therm

  • Natural Gas Savings: Average 80% reduction of wash temperatures on all formulas due to ozone keeping chemicals active (oxygen) throughout the formula
  • Electricity Savings: Up to 5% annual electric savings due to shorter washer extractor operating cycles and shorter drying times.
  • Water Savings: Average 35% reduction of water consumption through reduced washed formulas.
  • Chemical Savings: 25% to 30% reduction due to regeneration of chemistry

Payback period averages three months for most installations and can be instant if incentives are available for water savings.
